San Antonio, TX
February 06, 2006 Payment Data Systems, Inc. (OTC BB:
PYDS) an integrated electronic payments solutions provider,
announced today that it has signed a contract with Shelby
Systems, Inc. with headquarters in Cordova, Tennessee.
Shelby is a leader among software solutions providers to
this community of clients.
Shelby Systems serves over 8500 faith-based
organizations. Most of these clients are churches with
memberships in excess of 1,000. The purposes of forging a
partnership between Payment Data Systems and Shelby is to
allow members to make online donations and to pay for the
many ancillary services being offered by these organizations
such as camp registrations, adult seminars, etc.
The agreement defines a process in which a church
contacts Shelby, the software provider, and indicates an
interest in providing credit card payment capability to the
congregation. After receiving this notice of interest,
Payment Data completes a contract with the church. The
church can then begin processing credit cards using Shelby’s
“e-Give” or “e- Registrations” software.
“We are very enthusiastic about being able to provide our
innovative solutions to Shelby and their very significant
base of customers,” said Michael Long, Chairman and CEO.
Long added, “Clear benefits to the church staff come in the
form of increased accuracy and a reduction in manual
processes.”
Frank Canady, president of Shelby Systems, said, “Being
able to make online payments has been requested by our
client churches and their congregations for some time now.
We are pleased to offer this convenience for payments
through Payment Data Systems. We expect members will be able
to maintain their patterns of giving regardless of illness,
work, or vacation that may hinder regular attendance.”
